Urban Music Makers

Music. Confidence. Community.

Urban Music Makers introduces young people to the excitement and discipline of playing in a concert band through woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments.

Students learn instrument fundamentals, music reading, rhythm, tone, and ensemble playing while developing the habits that strong musicians need: focus, preparation, listening, and teamwork.

Beginning musicians receive the foundation they need to grow, while developing students are challenged to become more independent, expressive, and confident performers.

What Students Gain

Students build musicianship, discipline, confidence, and a sense of responsibility to the ensemble. They learn that every individual part matters—and that preparation, persistence, and cooperation are what turn a group of musicians into a band.

A Pathway for Growth

Urban Music Makers is designed to help students progress from their first notes to confident ensemble performance. As they advance, students take on more challenging music, strengthen their technique, and prepare for continued musical study and performance opportunities.
